It’s hard to be certain about the benefits of a musical career, especially now. It’s a desperate time for any musician. We all work so hard and I typify the un-success it can bring, the anonymity that can be sustained while still getting the job done. I’m guilty as charged for being highly individual. I think I’ve paid enough for that. People say, “How do you feel about having a musical career?” It’s stunning. I’m honored that I’ve gone this far; I’m 68 and haven’t starved to death.
